Travel Insurance is required as part of your traveler agreement. A plan with complete cancellation coverage (in case the trip is cancelled for any reason, you can recoup all your expenses) is required. If you consider all your preparatory costs, the program itself, and your flight, your total to cover may be around $10,000. Medical travel insurance is also required. Your regular health insurance coverages are not likely to apply overseas. You can sometimes get travel insurance through your credit card companies such as AMEX, so be sure to ask them.
